Lifeboats 03:12
I wanna live someone else’s life Take their car, Drive their wife Been running out of luck for too long All these years swimming out to sea Nobody comes to rescue me Can’t believe I’m still holding on I look round, we’re all the same, Praying for lifeboats every day Dreamers go down, dreams don’t float They won’t save us now Desperation’s in the air Like virus spreading everywhere Infecting the heart and the mind It’s long way to the top When the broken wood starts to rot On the ladder you been trying climb I look round, we’re all the same, Praying for lifeboats every day Dreamers go down, dreams don’t float They won’t save us now They won’t save us now On the other side, at the bottom of the sea There’s open grave of washed up dreams Grandma’s Hands and her tambourine Tapping out a rhythm that’s haunting me Taking me back to when I was young All the time in the world to become The drifting man I am today Let ocean take our dreams away

Company 03:25
Life is bitter when you try to tow the line So much sweeter when you’re guilty of a crime People think I turned the water into wine Stole another’s guy’s song, told you it was mine Well I know what is right And doing what is right never did much for me I’ve had enough of being I’ll cross the line if it makes you mine tonight What I want is company, that don’t come for free I paid the price for company, there’s no stopping me, no stopping now Women love a man who brings them to their knees When you’re the King the girls will kill to be Queen Slayed the dragon, tamed the crowd with the devil’s touch Did all with the hand of God, thank you very much Well I know what is right And doing what is right never did much for me I’ll cross the line if it makes you mine tonight What I want is company, that don’t come for free I paid the price for company, there’s no stopping me, no stopping now Your honor I know a killed man I took out the gun of his hand The crown was on the ground just lying there A single bullet got the world to care Well I know what is right And doing what is right never did much for me I’ll cross the line if it makes you mine tonight What I want is company, that don’t come for free I paid the price for company, there’s no stopping me, no stopping now

Cold Stripped to the bone Circling crows Wait for me to die But I’m strong Hard as a stone Done selling my soul If that what it takes to survive To give and to wait for something back Who would do something stupid like that Call us crazy, what’s really insane Is thinking they’ll change They never change The world is place we don’t belong We’re taking our hearts and moving on You spit in our face but you’re gonna hate us when we’re gone Scars That’s all we are Burned by the light of the stars When we meant shine Once I was young, had all the aces up my sleeve One by one I watched them leave The river’s full of losers just like me To love and to hope they give back How did we let them get away with that? Call us crazy, what’s really insane Is thinking they’ll change They never change The world is place we don’t belong We’re taking our hearts and moving on You spit in our face but you’re gonna hate us when we’re gone

A River Away 03:33
Streets are full Of people living lives like us Waiting on a dream to come And take them away, a dream’s not a bus Take a look inside yourself Take the journey by yourself The Brooklyn Bridge is just a bridge Nothing but stone, it won’t bring you home I’m standing on the other side I need you to make it tonight When you’re falling love You can’t be afraid Come over, I’m only a river away When the heart is on fire Stop chasing the rain Go ahead baby jump in the water I’m only a river Away with doubt We know what that’s all about Spending nights alone With thoughts of what could have been We all have to swim To make it to the other side You have to leave the fear behind When you’re falling love You can’t be afraid Come over, I’m only a river away When the heart is on fire Stop chasing the rain Go ahead baby jump in the water I’m only a river away Away from you The storm is inside you Let my eyes be your guide The light will pull you through The river’s dark and deep The heavy secrets will keep you From seeing the truth

about

The Planeteer and Mr. Saturday Night had already established the modern Julian Velard conventions: irresistible pop songs augmented with distinctive full-band arrangements. In the summer of 2011, JV put a spin on that formula, recording four songs entirely from his Brooklyn apartment. Person Of Interest, released a year later, proves that his melodies still shine through, even with hypnotic keyboard tones and drum machines taking the place of a band. "Company" and the blissful "A RIver Away," revisited on If You Don't Like It, You Can Leave, are highlights.
